Custom Book Shelf

When we had to repaint the interior, we packed away all of our books and realized that the 30 year old Ikea book shelves had to GO!!! The space in our home was a perfect place for books, so we decided to create something much better than our old store-bought shelves.

I found a design I liked and Thor put his welding skills to work to build the frame. Together, we milled the wood planks to meet our standards, and then used a torch to "burn" the wood. It really made the grain POP! Then a light sanding and some stain, and we were ready to put it all together. I LOVE how it turned out!
